I wanted a VCA module for my modular synth setup. I was going to buy either a Mutable Veils or an Intellijel Quad VCA.

But then I discovered the Vncursal. It’s a 6 VCA in one module at just 8HP.

In this post I’ll go over the building of the kit, followed by calibration and installing/testing in my Eurorack case.

The kit uses all through-hole components and is fairly easy to build.

The design is tightly packed using all through-hole components

Conclusion

If you want a decent quality linear VCA the takes up minimal rack space, I think this is a good option. It’s straightforward to build but you can also buy it as a fully assembled module.
